About Northern Uganda Widows and Orphans Support Organization (NUWOSO)
Northern Uganda Widows and Orphans Support Organization (NUWOSO) is a women-led, women’s rights humanitarian and development-focused NGO, founded in 2005, by a group of women affected by the HIV/AIDS scourge and the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) conflict in Northern Uganda. NUWOSO is legally registered and in compliance with the National NGO Bureau regulations. NUWOSO is also the new Secretariat of the Charter for Change (C4C) Working Group Uganda 2025. NUWOSO exist to address the adverse conditions affecting women, girls, youth and children in our community such as poverty, gender-based violence, health, rights abuse, and disasters. We strive to make impactful transformations in the lives of the constituents served by implementing projects and programs that promote and foster equal rights to health, social, economic, and cultural survival, protection, development, and participation. We envision a society where all women, girls, children and youth live with dignity and autonomy, empowered and resilient to their challenges.
